How do I Earn a Credit Point?

It is possible to obtain credit at a number of universities in Australia by coming on an Indonesian Internships program. However, there are two possible methods for this and we recommend a different one of these at different universities.  You can read about the different methods below and then click on the link to your university to see which method is recommended for you.

Enrolling in a Unit at your Home University

This method requires that your home university offers a suitable unit for you to enroll in. If this is the case, you can just enroll in the unit with your university (generally prior to coming on program) and submit the relevant assessment pieces upon your return.  You can just let us know the details of the unit that you will be completing and then we will do all we can during your program to enable you to complete everything required.

If you choose this option then you will have to pay the normal unit fees at your home university, but there is no extra fee with Indonesian Internships.

Enrolling in the Internship Unit at Universitas Islam Indonesia

It is now also possible for students to complete a unit with Unversitas Islam Indonesia (UII) while on either a group or individual Indonesian Internships program. For the details of this unit see: Internship Unit at Universitas Islam Indonesia.

To be enrolled in this unit, just select the relevant box in the application form. We then handle all facets of your enrolment. Please note that an extra fee of $700 is charged if you do this unit (See “Fees”).

Although you are able to enroll in this unit from the June 2008 program onwards, the details of how to transfer the credit from UII is still being discussed with many universities. Please click on the link below to check the progress of these discussions at your university. If there is not yet a link, or all the details are not confirmed on the page, then it means that we are still working with representatives of your university, so please ask your lecturer or keep an eye on this page for developments.

University Specific Information

Steps to make sure that you get a credit point:

Step 1: Follow the link to your university below to see what the recommended method for obtaining a credit point is at your university.

Step 2: Check with your careers advisor and/or the listed unit coordinator that the unit fits into your degree. If you encounter any problems during this process, email us on info@indonesianinternships.com.au.  You may also wish to enquire about grants available from your university at this point.

Step 3: When filling out the relevant section of the Application Form, advise us that you wish to obtain credit and the details of the unit that you will be completing.

Step 4: If you are doing the unit with UII then we will manage your enrollment for you and keep you updated with any extra information.  If you are doing the unit at your own university, then enrol in the unit prior to leaving, ensuring that you will have time to finish the program and all assessment work before the unit's due dates (if not, you can probably enrol in the unit for the following semester).

Step 5: Come on the program, complete assessment work and submit it!
